14-Black defeats 14-Red for SE Washington Classic Gold Championship

Both Columbia U-14 teams rolled undefeated into the Gold Championshp Final at the SE Washington Classic for the second year in a row. Also for the second year, Columbia 14-Black came out on top to win the tournament over Columbia 14-Red. Columbia 13-Black finished 3rd in the Bronze Division.

Columbia may re-make one or more teams for the Summer Soiree Tournament in Disneyland. If you are interested and available to make the trip with a team that may include players a year younger or older than yourself, fill out this form. Please don't sign up if you aren't actually available and committed to go if you are selected. Not every player who signs up will have the chance to make the trip. (It depends on the age-level and positions needed for any team we send. Please respond asap to be considered.

The premier travelling camp series for High School (and MS) age players is returning to Southridge HS in July. These camps led by Dr. Mashallah Farokhmanesh, University of Nevada Las Vegas – Associate Head Coach, are a great way to get yourself prepared for the 2013 school season. Columbia 16-Black reached the Platinum Division at the Evergreen Regional Championships. They finished 9th overall among the 44 teams competing for the Region's title, and were only eliminated by the eventual overall champion.

Columbia 18-Red - Far Westerns USA Flight 1 ChampionsColumbia 18-Red showed the value of winning out (see their picture) by winning Flight 1 in the 18-USA division at the Far Westerns National Qualifier. The Red girls finished 17th in the 33 team division.

16-Black plays American at Far Westerns

Columbia 16-Black played the tough American Division (the most diverse of the qualifying divisions) at the Far Westerns National Qualifier in Reno, NV. The Columbia girls reached the Bronze C Semifinal to finish 43rd of 141 teams in the division.

18-Black plays Far Westerns National Qualifier

Columbia 18-Black with their bid to Nationals already claimed, traveled to the Far Westerns to get in some good California competition. They had a good first day upset of the #12 seed and reached the Flight 2 Semifinals to take 15th overall among the 148 teams spread over the U-18 divisions. (Columbia had the highest finish of any Evergreen Region team.)
